Active Youth Mentorship & Trauma Informed Care

Active Youth Mentorship & Trauma-Informed Care | Life Unbound

Clear the hurdles and start living a life unbound with support built on real connection.

At Life Unbound, we believe the best support starts with a genuine connection, not a clinical checklist. We’ve traded sterile offices and high-pressure gyms for the fresh air of our local tracks, beaches, and parks—places where we can have a yarn, get moving, and simply be ourselves. Led by a qualified Health and Physical Education (HPE) educator, our mentorship is designed to help young people navigating the NDIS and DCJ systems discover their true potential.

  • A Consistent Team Whether you are navigating the NDIS or the complexities of the OOHC/DCJ systems, you deserve a mentor who is patient, reliable, and consistent. We provide a steady presence you can count on, walking alongside you through every challenge.

  • Learning by Doing We use outdoor activities and natural movement to build discipline, confidence, and resilience. By moving the "classroom" outside, we help you master practical life skills in a way that feels natural and engaging, rather than forced or clinical.

  • Trauma-Informed Care Grounded in professional teaching standards and trauma-informed practices, we offer a safe, pressure-free environment. We focus on emotional regulation and physical wellness, providing the encouragement you need to find your feet and build positive future pathways.

  • Rooted in Belonging We are proud of our Dharawal heritage and our commitment to "Being One with Country." By walking the land together, we help both Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth find the strength and identity that comes from a deep connection to the world around them.

Our Goal: We are in your corner to help you push past the "I can't" and discover what is possible. Together, we’ll clear the hurdles and build a resilient, independent life.

Detailed Support for DCJ Caseworkers & Agencies

Our professional mentorship framework is designed to integrate seamlessly with statutory requirements. Sessions typically occur 2–3 times per week, lasting roughly 2 hours each. A standard session begins with somatic regulation—focusing on trauma-informed movements—followed by goal-setting activities such as coastal 'walk and talks' or gym-based resilience coaching. Every interaction is documented to meet strict VOCA and DCJ reporting standards, providing caseworkers with clear, monthly evidence of youth progress and engagement.

Qualifications

Qualified Mentors: Certified trauma-informed coaches and high-energy facilitators.

Safety-First Approach: Extensive risk mitigation and trauma-safe operational protocols.

How We Work With Young People

Detailed interaction logs meeting strict VOCA and DCJ reporting standards.

Monthly evidence-based reporting on youth engagement and developmental progress.

Culture, Identity and Personal Belonging

As an Indigenous-owned and operated service, we provide a culturally safe and empowering environment for Indigenous youth. We believe that physical health and cultural identity go hand-in-hand. Our mentorship programs include connections to Country, cultural awareness, and a deep respect for heritage, helping young people build a solid foundation of self-worth and belonging. By immersing youth in the natural world through coastal tracks and regional excursions, we foster a deep, somatic resilience that transcends the gym.

Ready to get started?

We offer a streamlined intake process designed to reduce friction for caseworkers. Most youth begin with a 1:1 intake session followed by weekly or twice-weekly coaching sessions at a local gym or coastal location, ensuring consistent, high-impact mentorship from day one.

Referrals are processed within 48 hours. Our team collaborates directly with DCJ caseworkers to ensure all trauma-informed care requirements are met and documented appropriately.
